MEET PANDA!!! (GAUTENG)
Panda is the cutest little pup born in January 2025. He is a Great Dane and Terrier blend.
Panda is intelligent, curious, food-driven, and playful. He thrives on structure and mental stimulation. His natural instinct is to bond closely with a confident leader and he respects boundaries when they are consistently enforced.
He’s affectionate with his human and increasingly confident around new people, provided introductions are calm and well-managed. He does best when people do not approach or reach for him immediately. He is very good with children!
Panda is a high-energy, high-maintenance dog who needs a savvy home with a family that are willing to put in the time and effort to keep him training. A structured home with consistent rules and follow-through.
He needs to have regular exercise and mental stimulation (games, training, puzzle feeders, etc.) as he is highly intelligent and is in the core of his life now where he will learn everything for adulthood.
He has responded extremely well to positive reinforcement and is fully house trained!
Some of his training includes:
• Impulse control: I can place a treat in front of him and walk away for 10–20 seconds. He will not eat it until I say “Yes.”
• Release cue: He only eats from my hand or the floor when I give the verbal cue “Yes.”
• Leash training: Ongoing but improving
• Recall: He’s beginning to understand “Come” and responds better when excited or playful
• Play: He now plays fetch enthusiastically with tennis balls, plastic bottles, and rope toys
• Socialisation: He is in the process of working with our behaviourist and learning to socialise with other dogs.
This boy had the ability to be a magnificent dog.
