After he fell ill with ehrlichia, (totally treatable), Mac (previously named Bullet), was surrendered unwanted by his township owner.
My heart sank because I know how difficult it is to rehome larger dogs, especially Boerboel crosses. Looking quite intimidating at first glance, my concerns immediately vanished when he went all mushi when offered a friendly voice and ear rub. This boy allowed me, a complete stranger to pick him up and shove him into a crate! Mac’s biggest concern in life, seems to be to do anything that will displease a human.
We held a mini spayathon this week, including Mac in the line-up, and our Vet staff commented that Mac was the most well behaved dog of all present on the day . He is already handsome but will be a super hunk once he is on goal weight and his general condition has picked up. He is not a huge dog, currently weighs 23 kg, should be around 30 kg, estimated between 2 and 4 years. He is chilled around other dogs and came from a multi dog home.
We have secured him fostering for the next 2 weeks (thank you Erika), but after that will need either a permanent home or a more long term foster offer.
If you can offer either, please contact 072 1762 175 or [email protected]
