Hi, my name is Fido. I’ve had a very  hard start in life and after 1 year and 11 months of fighting to survive, I am now reaching out to you for some help please. I was born at a very busy truck stop and my mommy worked tirelessly to keep me fed and away from all those big crushing wheels. Luckily at 3 months old I was adopted by a family that lived very far away in the desert on a small farm, it sounded like paradise to me!  It was at first because I was extremely skinny and they fed me scraps and I got much stronger and I started feeling happy for the first time in my life.  Unfortunately I was mistaken because once I was bigger the neglect started.  Food became more and more scarce and I often had no water to drink, which is really hard when it’s 45 degrees in summer!

Fortunately I met two lovely people who would come and visit me once a week.  They would bring me food and treats and fresh water.  But the best part is there two dogs that always come with them.  We’ll go for walks together and play and I have so much fun with them.  One afternoon when they left I thought I’d try and follow them.  I just kept following the dirt track and the smell of their bakkie and after 3kms I found their home!!  They love me dearly but they have cats and told me that unfortunately I can’t stay with them because the cats are scared of me.  That hasn’t stopped me from making the dangerous journey in the wild every other night to go visit them when my owners are asleep.  They feed me and give me water and then after a little while they take me back home.  While I sit next to the guy he rubs my ears while I look at the stars and for a moment I feel like I belong.  Please can you help me feel that everyday?

We are urgently looking for a home for this beautiful fur-angel.  If you would like more information or would like to adopt him, please contact Grenville on 082 601 3534
