He is a beautiful little male born 28 June 2023. He came to us after he tried to bite a tenant in the communal garden and his human mommy got notice from the landlord to rehome him otherwise she would have to move and she is a single mom who cannot afford to move. She consulted two veterinarian in the Western Cape and both advised her to put him to sleep.
Imagine this beautiful boy being put to sleep for typical Chihuahua behaviour and acting out because he is suffering from anxiety and basically just being misunderstood.
His human mommy contacted us and asked for help and we decided that the best would be for him to come into our care where we known and understand the breed.
He arrived in Gauteng just before Christmas is currently being fostered by our director, founder and canine behaviourist Lynda Kotzé in Meyerton, Gauteng.
We are happy to report that there is absolutely nothing serious wrong with him.
He is a typical Chihuahua that is aloof and cautious of strangers but once you have spent time with him he becomes the most loving little boy. He just wants to be on your lap, follow you to the bathroom and sleep in your bed. He does have some anxiety and trust issues but in the right home he will blossom and become someone’s best friend. He can also be somewhat over protective of his person and will try and react if other dogs in the home come close.
We would suggest a quite home where he is an only dog or have one other little small breed friend preferably female or a laid back male.
He finds is mischievous and curious and will now and again get the urge to chase the cat but has never bitten one. He is also intimidated by big dogs.
